The Wasp 1000 Plasma Head with Bulb and 5-Degree Reflector from Hive is a single point light source with performance similar to a 2,500W HMI (or 10,000 tungsten fixture), but unlike an HMI it has an extremely low power draw. While the HMI consumes 2.5K of current, the Wasp uses just 1,150W, which means you can run 2 of them on a 20A, 120 VAC circuit. And performance isn't limited to power. The daylight-balanced Wasp outputs full spectrum, 98+ CRI dimmable light at 5600K that's flicker-free at any frame rate, making it ideal for high-speed work. Ideal for long throw work, at 50' the Wasp 1000 reads f16 at spot and f4/5.6 at flood with an ISO of 800. The light has a combination 5/8" receiver / 1-1/8" pin mount. Plasma 1000 100-120V and 200-240V ballasts are required and purchased separately.
